Your phone gets answered
When the desk is busy or the practice is closed, PractoSA picks up. It says it is an AI, takes the message, and puts anything urgent through to a person.

3 calls. 3 answered in two rings. 0 rang out.
Every missed and after-hours call answered, triaged and logged. Urgent callers handed straight to a human.
- Picks up missed, after-hours and overflow calls.
- Tells the caller it is an AI receptionist and that the call is recorded, before it asks for anything.
- Answers the practice's usual questions: hours, where to park, what to bring.
- Takes a message and marks it routine, urgent or emergency. Emergencies get the emergency number and a person straight away.
- Transfers the call to a staff member's number when that is the better option. The caller can interrupt it at any time.
- Every call shows up in a callback list as a written transcript, so nobody has to listen to voicemails.
- You keep your phone number. Calls are forwarded to PractoSA.
The voice AI runs on servers we operate in South Africa. Call audio is not sent to an overseas AI service.
The AI disclosure and the emergency routing are handled outside the AI model, so they happen on every call no matter how the conversation goes.
Each practice's data is separated at the database level. Everything the AI does is written to an audit log that cannot be edited.
Built and tested. On its own, Reception takes messages. Booking appointments on a call needs the Scheduling switch, and the AI tells callers that.
We are taking on a small number of practices in South Africa while we finish this. If you want reception on your line, get in touch.
